In recent years, Slovenia has become a world-famous culinary destination. As different as its beautiful landscape is, so are the tastes that it offers, from the waves of the Adriatic Sea, through the alpine gardens to the Pannonian plain.
We have included 9 typical Slovenian flavors in the selection of these excellent pralines. Embark on a sweet journey through Slovenian culinary regions with these unusual but excellent creations.
The sweetest strawberries ripen under the sun in Janče in central Slovenia. The crispest cherries grow in the orchards of the Goriške Brd, and just a stone's throw away we find bushes rich with the best black and red currants. The Mediterranean flavors end with a salty-sweet chocolate surprise - praline, which is made with salt flower from the Sečovel salt pans.
The discovery of flavors then takes you to the hilly Dolenjska region, where beautiful hazel trees grow, which produce sweet hazelnuts every year. A little further east is the home of another nut - Pannonian almonds, which are the basis for marzipan. The magical Pomurje region is known for its seeds - both pumpkin and poppy. The word about the latter was brought to the world by an excellent Prekmurje gibanica. The chocolate journey ends in magical alpine valleys with a praline flavored with pleasantly sweet apple chips.
